Sandy is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Black Dog Institute in Suicide Prevention at the University of New South Wales. His work pertains to mental health and suicide prevention, working together with various public and government organizations in both Australia and Indonesia with a focus on communication, training, and research.
Beyond the lab, oversees ongoing projects that include strategies to improve the quality of psychological research in developing countries. His work in improving mental health in Indonesia has been covered by many outlets (inc. ABC Radio, ABC Asia Pacific, The Guardian, UNSW Newsroom) and is being studied as part of a UNSW Science Masters course on science for impact. He has recently founded the Indonesian Mental Health Mission and is also the expert adviser to I ASK.
